Marketing & Content Intern 4-Month Internship | Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid) | 8-16 hrs/week
Foxiecakes creates destination-inspired buttercream flower decorating kits with flavors and ingredients you can feel good about. We’re on a mission to sprinkle joy and empower casual creatives of all levels — especially newbies — to discover the fun and fulfillment of floral cake decorating. Our kits, manufactured in Brooklyn, feature plant-based colors, unique flavors, and are vegan/dairy-free adaptable. We’re in an early growth stage — building our marketing engine, scaling organic search, and growing our community.

Foxiecakes was founded by Biz Jones, a professional food and lifestyle photographer and director with 15 years of industry experience, who combined her visual expertise with a lifelong passion for baking to create these unique creative experiences.

Role Overview
Join our team to help grow Foxiecakes across social, search, email, and community channels. You’ll get hands‑on experience in content creation, SEO, AI search optimization, influencer outreach, and PR — all at a small‑business, founder‑led brand in an exciting early growth stage.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Content: Plan and execute Instagram and TikTok content, manage posting and community engagement, assist with shoots and content editing including behind the scenes, and support influencer and brand partner outreach

Email & PR: Help build email campaigns, support earned media outreach, and track performance metrics

SEO & Blog: Write SEO‑optimized blog posts, optimize for keywords and formatting, upload to Shopify, and monitor Google Search Console for errors and opportunities

AI Search & Pinterest: Test brand visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews; create keyword‑optimized Pinterest pins and track analytics

Community Engagement: Participate in baking and DIY communities (Reddit, Facebook groups) and connect conversations back to our content

What You’ll Learn & Gain

Food and lifestyle content creation from a 15‑year industry pro

SEO, AI search optimization (GEO/AEO), and Pinterest strategy

Multi‑platform marketing: social, email, influencer, and PR

Real‑world analytics and performance reporting

Qualifications

Current student seeking internship credit (unpaid)

Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok

Strong writing and research skills with an eye for brand voice

Basic photo/video editing skills

Comfortable using AI tools; organized and self‑directed

Basic SEO knowledge or eagerness to learn

Familiarity with Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar

Experience with Google Search Console or Pinterest Analytics

Interest in baking, food content, or natural products

Duration: 3-4 months | Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid) | Unpaid, for academic credit
