The Central Region Area Marketing Manager, reporting to the Central Region Marketing Manager, will bolster our company’s growth through the production of high-quality, winning proposal and qualification packages, support business development efforts and opportunity identification, and provide a deep knowledge and understanding of marketing in the AEC industry. The successful candidate has a strong attention to detail, is organized, can easily handle multiple deadline-driven opportunities at once, has a strong desire and ability to execute high quality marketing products, and is knowledgeable about the local market.

We seek a committed, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual who anticipates issues and thrives on creative, independent problem solving within a rapid, deadline-driven environment. This candidate is driven to not only execute but also to identify opportunities and build relationships within the industry.

You will be part of GEI’s highly respected marketing organization as a member of the Central Region marketing team. As a part of this larger team, there is ample opportunity for mentorship, growth, and teamwork.

Occasional travel to other offices is anticipated.

Lead opportunities through the entire sales cycle including lead identification and tracking, capture planning, proposal development, and interview support.

Lead proposal development; understand RFP requirements; develop and proactively manage task lists and process; update and prepare documents (resumes, project writeups, proposals, company services, matrices, SOQs, SF330 and other related documents); edit covers and graphics, content development, format, review, and edit final documents, coordinate subconsultant documents, produce final proposals; QA/QC all work products and ensure deadlines are met.

Lead interview preparation efforts, including developing PowerPoint presentations, preparing teams for interviews, leading mock panels, and occasionally attending interviews to assist with slideshows.

Create responses to RFPs, SOQs, RFIs, and MSAs while remaining responsible for proposal/document quality, compliance, consistency in pursuit strategy/proposal themes, production, on-time delivery, and win tracking.

Provide support on key growth initiatives and account plans to seller-doers and regional leaders.

Update/maintain various written marketing collateral, including project sheets, resumes, award submittals, brochures, templates, and project interview content.

Assist with the planning and execution of company marketing events such as conferences, seminars, and other outreach events and be available for occasional travel to conferences.

Become involved with marketing professional societies or similar organizations to ensure continuous professional development. Participate in professional society events to promote networking and client relations.

Establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with senior seller-doers.

Maintain current information in marketing databases related to opportunities, projects, personnel, and general knowledge. Develop reports to extract information from the marketing database.

Provide market intelligence research, including gathering, documenting, and reporting findings.

Manage multiple marketing efforts running concurrently in varying complexity and value; scheduling workload and priorities accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, English, or Journalism is preferred.

Minimum 6-10 years of marketing experience in the AEC industry.

Experience in Marketing and/or lead/client generation and proposal response efforts.

Strong written communication and organizational skills; ability to perform detail-oriented work, including document layout and production.

A team player with strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.

Able to excel at detail-oriented work, including document layout and production while focusing on the larger strategy.

Proficient working with MS Office products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe InDesign. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and CRM systems.

Strong organizational skills with ability to independently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
