GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Director of AlumniRelations will develop and coordinate a positive connection between the University and its alumni. Director will coordinate the activities of the Alumni Association, including Alumni Board engagement and alumni events including Alumni Weekend. The Director facilitates activities to increase annual alumni giving and shall assist with donor recognition circles and special giving events such as the President’s Giving Society, Annual Fund, Giving Day, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Alumni Activities
Create an annual strategic plan for alumni activities and meeting assigned fundraising goals.
Manage and coordinate alumni events: Alumni Weekend, regional alumni gatherings, and other events as related to University Advancement activities.
Engage alumni and build relationships to further assist the University Advancement and William Woods University.
Strategically analyze ways to improve alumni events and activities.
Work with Chief Development Officer to coordinate Alumni Board; including mission, membership and engagement.
Work with other University community members to engage further alumni involvement.
Fundraising responsibilities as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Annual Fund
Work with Chief Development Officer and/or others to plan and conduct events for annual giving and student philanthropy societies and organizations.
Develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase annual alumni giving percentage.
Participate in University meetings, events and donor receptions to engage annual giving donors and colleagues. Develop effective partnerships throughout the University to enhance the understanding of philanthropy and the benefits of annual giving.
Maintain knowledge of campus-wide activities of interest to supporters and possible collaboration opportunities for student philanthropy.
Other related duties as assigned or requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred or equivalent job knowledge and work experience.
Experience working with student employees and volunteers highly preferred.
Event planning and fundraising experience preferred.
High comfort level with data, data analysis, and spreadsheet software.
Knowledge of fundraising principles and able to participate in a multifaceted development program, especially within an educational organization.
Strong verbal communication and writing skills.
Ability to use MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and University database programs (Donor Perfect).
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Incorporate qualities of good judgment, confidentiality and discretion in communicating with co-workers and individuals in personal life.
Initiative to organize and follow through with tasks to meet deadlines.

WORK SCHEDULE
This is an exempt, full-time, 12-month position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
