Director of Real Estate Development – Montgomery, AL

The Montgomery Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking a highly qualified Director of Real Estate Development (DRED) to lead and manage its Public Housing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Units, and other new construction properties that total 1,187 units. MHA also administers 3,073 Housing Choice Vouchers and employs a staff of 66. MHA is the third largest housing authority in Alabama, the largest affordable housing provider in Montgomery, and the preferred affordable housing provider in the River Region of Alabama. The DRED reports directly to the President / CEO of MHA.

A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, or a closely related discipline is required. A master’s degree in the same discipline areas is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of seven (7) years of responsible management of real estate investment portfolios, underwriting or finance, and/or real‑estate asset management/property management, with at least five (5) years of management/supervisory experience. Compensation for the position is negotiable, depending on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate. The salary range is $105,000 to $120,000. It is expected that the selected candidate will establish residency in Montgomery, Alabama. MHA is an equal opportunity employer.
