The Team
The PR Manager, Americas region, is a key member of the global Fujitsu PR team reporting to the Head of International PR in Japan. Responsible for shaping public perception through proactive promotion and crisis communications, building relationships with stakeholders, and enhancing Fujitsu's image in the wider market.
The Challenge
Lead PR for the Americas region, ensuring high impact and high‑quality PR management that contributes to the success of the region's business. Report directly to the PR function in Japan.
Your Role Will Involve The Following Key Accountabilities
Support leadership teams of group companies in the Americas in achieving business and communication goals through PR activity.
Develop, plan and execute impactful PR strategies for the Americas region, aligned with global priorities.
Initiate, plan and coordinate PR plans, guidance and key messages to targeted audiences, revising strategies as conditions change.
Liaise with corporate communications colleagues globally, sharing information and best practice to maximize positive impact.
Create and develop PR content proactively and reactively, finding stories, identifying opportunities, and crafting compelling press releases.
Provide regular reports on PR activity to demonstrate impact and support continuous improvement.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists and serve as key point of contact for all media inquiries in the Americas.
Provide media training to senior leaders and colleagues as needed, monitoring trends, coverage and industry news to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Manage external PR agencies when engaged to maximize value to the business.
Ensure all PR activity is brand compliant and contributes to protecting and enhancing Fujitsu’s corporate values and reputation.
Your Education, Experience And Skills
Experience managing PR activity, including crisis communication and reputation management.
Ability to handle sensitive situations and provide honest, candid advice to leaders from a PR perspective.
Ability to influence and engage at all levels to plan and deliver impactful PR activity.
Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging PR content that resonates with target audiences.
Ability to identify stories that drive coverage supporting business objectives.
Good understanding of relevant media and external communications channels.
Degree level education or equivalent relevant skills and knowledge.
Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing.
Experience using MS Office tools and M365 apps.
Cultural awareness and understanding of communication nuances with employees from diverse backgrounds with experience in a Japanese business context.
A strong interest in Japanese culture and language is a plus.
Salary Range: $99,470 to $143,237 USD. Eligible for short‑term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
