Senior Specialist Legal Editor, Practical Law Antitrust
We are seeking an experienced antitrust lawyer to join the Practical Law Antitrust team in the US. Practical Law is part of Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of trusted legal content and technology.
Overview
As a Senior Specialist Legal Editor in Practical Law, you will leverage your expert knowledge of antitrust law to create and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content. You will also support the development of Thomson Reuters’ AI‑powered legal solutions and contribute to internal editorial tools.
Responsibilities
Research, write and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content aligned with market practice, customer needs, and business objectives.
Review and edit content written by colleagues or external expert contributors.
Keep up to date with legal, practice, and market developments to ensure content remains accurate and relevant.
Use your legal expertise to support the development of customer‑focused AI‑powered legal solutions.
Help develop and apply internal AI editorial tools.
Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure content reflects current market practice.
Assist the wider Thomson Reuters team across product management, sales, marketing, and technology functions as needed.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor with a current license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
At least 8 years of experience as an antitrust lawyer in a law firm or in‑house practice in the US.
Extensive experience advising on Hart‑Scott‑Rodino (HSR) Act filings, HSR exemptions, and pre‑merger notification practice.
Experience advising on gun‑jumping issues, clean‑team arrangements, and antitrust risk‑shifting provisions in M&A transactions.
Familiarity with the Practical Law Market database or similar deal‑intelligence resources.
Strong writing skills and a passion for writing legal practice in plain English.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Strong technical skills and the ability to utilize various tools, including AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the AI space and emerging technologies.
A curious mindset, open to change, and experience using AI tools in legal work.
