Senior Manager, Technology – Southwest Airlines
Job Summary
The position supports the Human Resources and Finance teams by growing and implementing Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices, facilitating portfolio reviews, coordinating meetings, and executing LPM strategies. The role requires strong communication, agility, and the ability to deliver effective solutions in a dynamic environment.
Location & Work Arrangement
This hybrid role is based at the Southwest Airlines Campus in Dallas, TX, requiring on‑site presence for a minimum of three days each week (the specific days are assigned by the branch).
Compensation
Hourly rate: $20–30 per hour.

Responsibilities
Lead, facilitate, and influence the execution of objectives and projects across the branch and corporate level.
Participate in organization-wide initiatives such as performance management, interviewing, budgeting, and training.
Resolve organizational, team, and individual issues and make effective decisions.
Develop and execute methodologies to improve overall performance and product/service value.
Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions that meet corporate goals.
Provide technical guidance related to assigned functional areas.
Deliver design solutions using high‑quality practices to maximize team productivity.
Stay current on emerging trends, technologies, and solutions relevant to responsibilities.
Build strong collaborative relationships and credibility with stakeholders across business and technology groups.
Work with business partners to measure ROI and demonstrate business impact.
Perform other duties as directed by the manager.
Qualifications
Preferred experience with Lean Portfolio Management and SAFe implementation.
Advanced knowledge of enterprise leadership principles and organizational practices.
Strong understanding of software development practices, standards, and methodologies.
Advanced knowledge of risk‑management practices.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to facilitate interactions with business stakeholders and technology teams.
Ability to provide tactical leadership, motivate teams, and influence outcomes.
Skill in managing stakeholder expectations and delivering high‑quality initiatives on time and within budget.
Capability to use project management tools aligned with corporate practices.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent formal training). High school diploma or GED is required as a minimum.
