MUSIC DIRECTOR - HIGH SCHOOL PLAYS - (PER PLAY - 2 PLAYS)
General Description
To develop in each student an appreciation of music and performing arts.
Qualifications
Act as a proper role model for all staff and students both in school and outside the district.
Must be available in November for auditions for the production to be held in the spring of 2024.
Performance Expectations (Essential Functions)
The Music Director will be able to conceptualize, audition, rehearse, and produce a musical theater performance with approximately 20-40 students, culminating in a Broadway type musical performance.
Work closely with other members of a show's creative team, overseeing all musical aspects of a musical theater production, including casting performers and rehearsing singers.
Ability to work with students in grades 8-12.
Ability to assign and teach music as appropriate.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Previous experience as a Director, Musical Director, or Vocal Music Instructor preferred.
Manage, direct, and educate students participating in the Drama Musical Productions.
Other Professional Expectations
Perform other duties as the Board may direct.
Additional Working Conditions
Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
Occasional interaction with unruly children.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. In addition, the employee shall be free of any substance, prescribed or otherwise, that impairs the employee's work performance or the safety of others while on duty.
Compensation
Compensation will be $1,375.
