Assistant Director, Alumni Relations and University Engagement Agency

Overview
Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director of the WT Alumni Association, the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations will organize and coordinate alumni programs to strengthen the relations between the University and its alumni.
Responsibilities
Lead efforts to initiate, develop, and implement alumni chapters in specified geographical locations.
Attend chapter meetings and events as needed.
Develop promotional materials using software programs to create visually appealing graphics, invitations, and event registration forms.
Initiate alumni network events through the University’s Colleges and assist in building College Loyalty membership.
Manage timely content for web sites, social media, and other online engagement opportunities.
Assist with alumni association membership campaigns, including strategic planning and implementation for membership retention and growth.
Plan and execute activities that engage alumni and the university community (e.g., Homecoming, reunions, alumni events, chapter events).
Contribute to written drafts and scripts for alumni events, functions, and services.
Ensure compliance with all required online training courses for the System, University, and job‑specific requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six (6) years of related experience in public relations, event planning, external relations, university operations, or marketing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of individuals.
Must be willing to travel, and work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Eight (8) years of working knowledge of university operations related to engagement of multiple constituencies.
Experience with social media platforms.
Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently with given projects.
Employment Restrictions
Required legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout the employment term.
West Texas A&M University will not offer H‑1B or other work‑authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
Texas law requires all males age 18 through 25 to be properly registered with the Selective Service System.
