Responsibilities

Create a newscast that delivers unique content and distinguishes FOX6 from the competition.

Maintain unwavering accuracy and demonstrate urgency in your news writing.

Exhibit strong news judgment while managing multiple facets of the broadcast news production such as stacking, showcasing, and writing teases.

Execute error‑free newscasts from the booth, staying calm under pressure while communicating clearly with your team.

Establish FOX6 as the go‑to source for breaking news and demonstrate a strong understanding of the evolving broadcast business, including live streaming and maintaining an on‑line presence.

Qualifications

Have a college degree (preferably in Journalism) with a minimum of two years producing experience at a commercial television station.

Excellent news judgment is required.

Work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with the ability to pivot quickly in breaking news situations.

Be well‑versed in all aspects of journalism, from writing to sourcing through social networking.

Experience producing or contributing to streaming or digital newscasts is strongly preferred.

Non‑linear editing skills are a plus.

This is a morning position; may work holiday and varied hours as needed.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $55,000.00-63,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
