Associate, Communications,

Digital Campaigns & Community to support the execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns across digital channels. This role plays a critical part in bringing campaigns to life, ensuring seamless coordination across paid, owned and earned channels, while managing day-to-day social publishing, community engagement and audience monitoring.
Sitting within the Content Strategy and Activation team, this role provides hands‑on execution support while contributing to campaign effectiveness through real‑time insights, audience signals and operational excellence. This is an execution‑focused role with strong exposure to campaign strategy, performance marketing and cross‑channel activation.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock:
Campaign Execution & Coordination
Support the rollout of integrated campaigns across paid, social, email and influencer channels
Coordinate campaign timelines, assets and execution details across internal teams and agency partners
Ensure campaigns are activated accurately and on schedule across all relevant platforms
Assist in implementing A/B tests and campaign optimizations across channels
Social Publishing & Channel Execution
Execute day‑to‑day publishing across priority social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) in alignment with campaign and content strategy
Maintain publishing calendars and scheduling tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Partner with the Manager, Content & Social Growth to ensure content is optimized for platform best practices
Community Management & Engagement
Monitor social channels for comments, messages and engagement opportunities
Respond to audience interactions in a timely, on‑brand manner
Escalate sensitive or high‑priority interactions to Manager, Communications Operations, as needed
Identify opportunities to proactively engage with audiences and increase brand visibility
Media Monitoring & Audience Insights
Conduct ongoing media and social monitoring to identify relevant conversations, trends and potential risks
Track brand mentions, sentiment and competitor activity
Summarize key insights and share actionable takeaways with the broader team
Employee Advocacy Support
Support execution of the employee advocacy program, including content distribution and participation tracking
Help identify high‑performing content that can be leveraged for advocacy
Assist in educating internal stakeholders on best practices for social sharing
Performance Tracking & Optimization Support
Learn to track and report on campaign and social performance metrics (engagement, reach, CTR, etc.), ensuring data is captured accurately and shared consistently
Support testing efforts by implementing variations in copy, timing or format, with a willingness to learn optimization best practices across channels
Develop the ability to identify and share observations and insights, contributing to ongoing campaign and content optimization over time
Provide ongoing support to the MCN (Marketing Communications Network), with a strong willingness to learn platform tools, processes and paid/social best practices
What Success Looks Like:
Campaigns are executed accurately and on time, with strong attention to detail across timelines, assets, and platforms.
Social publishing is consistent and well‑managed, with calendars maintained and content deployed correctly in line with campaign plans.
Audience engagement is handled promptly and professionally, with responses aligned to brand voice and appropriate escalation when needed.
Performance tracking and monitoring are reliable and well‑organized, giving the team clear visibility into campaign and social activity.
Proactive support and coordination improve team efficiency, helping campaigns run smoothly and enabling stronger testing and optimization.
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
2–4 years of experience in digital marketing, social media or communications
Brings an entrepreneurial mindset to the role, showing curiosity, resourcefulness and a drive to take initiative, track down answers and keep work progressing independently
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and brand voice
Familiarity with social platforms, publishing tools and analytics
Experience with media monitoring or social listening tools is a plus
Highly organized with strong project management and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
