Production Supervisor 5
This contract-based Production Supervisor role oversees and coordinates the activities of production and operating workers in a manufacturing environment. The position focuses on driving productivity, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring efficient use of materials, equipment, and processes. You will lead day-to-day operations on the production floor, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure accurate reporting of production and personnel data.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production and operating workers to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
Review production operations regularly and collaborate with technical and administrative staff to resolve production or processing issues in a timely manner.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems to monitor performance and ensure compliance with standards.
Analyze production, quality control, and maintenance data to identify trends, detect production problems, and recommend corrective actions.
Hire, train, coach, and evaluate production staff, providing feedback and support to enhance performance and development.
Address and resolve personnel issues and grievances in a fair and professional manner.
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate production reports, metrics, and personnel records.
Oversee adherence to manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring consistent application of procedures and work instructions.
Support and promote lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives to reduce waste and optimize workflow.
Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of machinery, tools, and equipment on the production floor.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement, new product introduction, and process changes.
Essential Skills
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions and feedback to production staff and cross-functional teams.
High level of attention to detail with a focus on product quality, documentation accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage one's time effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Solid knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques used in manufacturing and assembly operations.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, operation, use, repair, and maintenance in a production setting.
Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in production supervision, production management, or a closely related manufacturing leadership role.
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
Experience in manufacturing processes and assembly operations.
Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process improvement methodologies.
Experience supervising teams in a production or assembly environment, including performance management and staff development.
Comfort with using production tracking and quality control systems, including data analysis for performance monitoring.
Ability to interpret and work with technical documentation such as blueprints, drawings, and process specifications.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
