Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ("Versant") comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well‑capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure‑play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin‑off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Responsible for reporting, producing, coordinating, planning, and publishing content on the website, app, and social media accounts
Responsible for daily coordination and curation of content produced by the digital news team
Cover breaking news
Handle resourcefully multiple editorial tasks in a breaking news environment
Cover breaking news, sends alerts and provide instruction to the team for further development
Responsible for editing and producing original stories
Responsible for the development, production, and editing of content focused on the Hispanic communities
Generates a wide variety of story ideas, research and set up the content and interviews
Assist in editing stories produced by other team members when needed
Work closely with other members from the news team, supporting them with stories in other formats
Brainstorm video ideas, work on scripts and production of video for larger form pieces
Work with other members of different teams to produce larger form pieces
Responsible for conceptualizing and writing accurate Spanish‑language news stories
Works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Editorial Manager
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a newsroom
Minimum 3 years of experience as a reporter covering US Hispanic communities
Proficient written and verbal communication in English and Spanish
Experience managing digital tools, including social media platforms and CMS
Working knowledge of Photoshop
Eligibility Requirements

Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
Must be available to work (whenever necessary) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies
Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice

Experience in investigative reporting and politics coverage
Understanding of digital metrics
Exhibits an understanding of social media and messaging platforms
Exhibits knowledge of current entertainment industry trends for the Latin Market in the US
Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
Effective self‑starter with the proven ability to generate and produce news stories and enterprise stories
Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment
Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired
Creative and highly organized
Exhibits news judgment with solid ethical decision process
