ASSOCIATE DESIGNER - Women's Apparel

A well-established apparel company is seeking an Associate Designer to join a small, hands‑on team in New York City. This is a great opportunity to grow within a collaborative team. We’re happy to train the right person on our processes. We’re more interested in strong design instincts and work ethic than a perfect skills match.
Responsibilities

Research trend, fabric, trims, color, and competitive product
Support development of seasonal concepts for major retail channels, including outerwear
Create flat sketches, line sheets, and tech packs
Assist with fabric, trim, lining, hardware, and garment detail selections
Help review samples, lab dips, trims, and fit comments
Work closely with the merchant and technical designer throughout the development process
Qualifications

2–3 years of apparel design experience
Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
Understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and trims
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects

Compensation: $65,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience
