ART DIRECTOR

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Art Director is the engine behind HART's creative output. This role owns the production of design, copy, and creative assets across every channel: emails, social graphics, print collateral, signage, in‑store materials, event assets, photography and more. This position will take direction from our Senior Brand Manager and return finished, on‑brand work, fast. The Art Director is the person on our creative team who makes the vision real. The quality of our brand at every touchpoint runs through you.

This role reports directly to the Senior Brand Manager and sits at the center of a lean, high‑output creative team. Our Chief Creative Officer sets the overall creative vision, which the Senior Brand Manager translates into strategy and brand direction and the Art Director brings to life across every visual execution.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Design Production

Design and produce email templates, campaigns, flows and one‑off sends in Klaviyo

Create print and digital collateral: packaging inserts, event signage, packaging, wholesale materials, and retail point‑of‑sale etc.

In collaboration with Content Manager, build paid digital ad assets aligned with campaign direction. Art Director focuses on templates for paid assets

Maintain and evolve HART's design templates across all formats

Manage the asset library within Canva and Dropbox keeping it all organized, versioned, accessible

Copy Production

Write and proof copy across channels: email subject lines and body, product descriptions, in‑store signage, event materials, and website updates

Hold HART's brand voice with consistency across every format

Collaborate with the Senior Brand Manager on campaign copy needs and seasonal storytelling

Creative Coordination

Under the leadership of the Senior Brand Manager, coordinate a working calendar of campaign needs, deadlines and deliverables

Manage incoming creative requests, triage priorities, and communicate timelines to stakeholders

Brief and coordinate with freelance photographers, videographers, and external vendors as needed

Lead photoshoot production and execution under the leadership of the Senior Brand Manager and in partnership with the Content Manager you will own the end to end execution of our photoshoot campaign calendar: visual guidelines and inspiration, asset prep, shot list organization, props, wardrobe, styling, talent, photo and video team, post‑production coordination etc

Ensure all final assets meet brand standards before distribution

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

3‑5 years of in‑house or agency design experience, ideally at a consumer brand

Fluency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Figma

Experience designing emails in Klaviyo or a comparable platform

Strong print production knowledge: bleeds, file specs, vendor coordination

Clean, confident copy instincts. You know when something reads off‑brand

Speed without sloppiness. You can turn around a polished asset under pressure

Low ego about the work. You execute other people's vision with the same care you would your own

Trained aesthetic sensibility. You notice when something is wrong before anyone tells you

Comfort operating without heavy process. HART moves fast and you will need to move with it

NICE TO HAVE

Experience at a fashion, accessories, or lifestyle brand

Basic video editing or motion graphics capability

Familiarity with Shopify for basic content updates

Photography eye

THE DETAILS
This is a full‑time, in‑office position based at our headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina. Hybrid option available after the first 30 days (up to 1.5 day remote per week).
