Overview Title: Program Supervisor – Food (Part time)
Work schedule: Part Time, 28 hours/week. Typical Schedule: Mon 9:00am - 6:30pm, Wed 9:00am - 5:30pm, Thurs 9:00am - 2:30pm, Fri 9:00am - 2:30pm. Occasional weekend availability, pre-planned in advance for special events/outreach. Location: Hopelink center in Carnation, WA, US.
About Hopelink Hopelink has provided stability-building programs since 1971 and is the largest nonprofit in North and East King County. Hopelink offers food, energy, and financial assistance, housing with case management, mobility management, non-emergency medical transportation, and other services to support families and individuals.
Responsibilities Coordinate the food program at a specific Hopelink center, provide guidance, direction, and supervision to volunteer staff.
Oversee weekly ordering of fresh and non-perishable food from multiple sources; maintain Hopelink Markets inventory and ensure overall cleanliness of the markets.
Perform client intake, determine client eligibility, and provide information and referrals.
Provide leadership for volunteer staff and set a culture of culturally competent, client-focused service for all market participants.
Support one or more Hopelink sites based on client and organizational needs; travel to local sites as required.
What you will be doing Operate Hopelink Markets (daytime and evening distributions), including set-up, operation, and clean-up. Scheduling varies by center; coverage at other centers may be required; schedule includes regular evenings and occasional weekends.
Foster a collaborative, flexible, and mission-focused team culture; support volunteers and clients.
Maintain food inventory and ensure stock rotation and workplace safety.
Train, organize, assign, and supervise volunteers; coordinate with the manager and volunteer program for necessary support.
Ensure volunteers are engaged, motivated, trained on safety procedures, best practices, and client-focused service.
Resolve issues with volunteers and escalate as needed with the Food Program Manager.
Record services in the client management database; manage weekly food orders from multiple sources.
Complete data-entry for relevant reporting sites; supervise and oversee food pick-ups and act as backup driver when needed.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the food market.
Qualifications & Qualities Experience supervising in a multi-purpose facility or program related to community services.
Experience working with low-income families is helpful.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Lists, SharePoint) and general inventory software.
Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
Experience with a trauma-informed approach and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (training provided).
Strong customer service orientation with de-escalation or conflict resolution skills.
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Local site travel required; mileage reimbursement offered.
Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $27.39 per hour
Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually, 10 paid holidays pro-rated to part-time hours
Up to 7 paid float days, pro-rated for part-time hours
