We are seeking a Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to support cross‑functional engineering teams by creating, maintaining, and publishing technical documentation. This role works closely with engineers to organize engineering information, support assembly documentation, and ensure technical documents are accurate, complete, and published according to company standards. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a fast‑paced engineering environment, and has experience with HTML and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with engineers to gather, verify, and organize technical information.
Publish documentation using the company's documentation/publishing tools.
Create, edit, proofread, and maintain technical documents while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Support assembly structure engineers by documenting assembly processes and engineering drawings.
Take photographs of hardware, assemblies, and components for use in technical documentation.
Review engineering drawings and associated documentation to ensure information is complete and accurate.
Manage and prioritize a high volume of documentation, including reducing a backlog of engineering documents.
Ensure all documentation follows company formatting, quality, and publishing standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience creating, editing, or publishing technical documentation.
Hands‑on HTML experience (required).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting hardware, manufacturing, or engineering organizations.
Experience working with engineering drawings, assembly documentation, or Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Familiarity with document publishing workflows and content management systems.
Experience taking and incorporating product or assembly photographs into documentation.
Knowledge of XML, Adobe FrameMaker, DITA, or other structured authoring tools is a plus.
