Visual Investigations Producer
The Visual Investigations Producer is a highly skilled reporter/producer who leverages open‑source intelligence (OSINT) and digital forensic tools to craft groundbreaking video journalism. They have strong editorial judgment, a keen investigative instinct, and the ability to turn complex research into compelling visual stories across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

Create compelling video journalism for digital and linear platforms

Conduct deep‑dive open‑source research and verification using advanced digital forensic tools and methodologies

Use OSINT methods and tools—including video verification, AI detection, geolocation, chronolocation, social media scraping, and metadata analysis—and analyze satellite imagery, marine and flight tracking, and other data sets

Conceive and oversee production of motion graphics and animations, including 3D animation when necessary

Develop and execute digital video investigations from start to finish, including pre‑ and post‑production stages

Assist in or write text stories for publishing on CNN’s digital platforms

Produce live segments, whether in the field, studio, or from remote network locations as needed

Apply knowledge of photojournalism, cameras, editing and animation software

Uphold and advance CNN’s journalistic standards, ethics, and commitment to impactful storytelling

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years production experience in news television or digital video journalism, with investigative reporting experience a necessity

BA/BS in journalism, politics or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Strong news judgment and strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication, research and production skills

Past reporting and field experience is an advantage

Compensation and Benefits
In compliance with local law, we disclose the compensation range for this role. Base pay ranges from $77,840.00 to $144,560.00 per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, program‑specific awards, health insurance, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick time and vacation.
