This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, including Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Team and Job Summary

Sr. Equipment Reliability Technician at the Huntsville, Alabama facility. This role supports the Maintenance department with administrative and technical tasks to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency. Responsibilities include onboarding new equipment, developing preventative maintenance work instructions, and identifying critical spare parts. A proactive individual with a strong understanding of maintenance systems and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment is sought.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Improvement: Analyze downtime, delays, rework, and nonconformances to identify high-risk processes and recurring issues.
Identify key data to be collected for monitoring equipment health and analyze that data to identify trends and predict failures.
Lead or support root cause and corrective action investigations, from immediate containment through systemic fixes and verification.
Build simple tracking and visibility tools to monitor reliability performance and guide priorities.
Process & Equipment Management: Develop, refine, and standardize procedures, work instructions, checkouts, and maintenance plans to stabilize execution and reduce variability.
Support commissioning and early-use stabilization of new tools and equipment.
Oversee the onboarding of new equipment, ensuring it is integrated smoothly into maintenance systems.
Utilize and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Identify and catalog spare parts required for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Collaboration & Engagement

Partner with design, manufacturing/integration engineering, Quality, and Operations to design and implement improvements in process, tooling, and equipment.
Spend significant time on the floor observing operations, engaging with stakeholders, and closing the loop on changes.
Provide hands-on technical support for equipment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in a technical field.
7+ years of hands-on experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Experience interacting with databases, identifying data for collection, and performing data analysis.
Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and data collection systems.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience working with CNC equipment.
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
