Role Overview
The Experienced Travel Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout the United States. This is a 100% travel role across the United States.

Core Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.

Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.

Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).

Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.

Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Core Experience

At least 2 years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components.

At least 2 years of renewable energy experience (preferred).

A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.

Post‑secondary education (preferred).

Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA 70E (preferred).

Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements.

Physical/Work Environment

Valid driver’s license for at least one year.

Work may involve rotating shifts and 100% travel.

Long‑standing work in ergonomically challenging positions.

Varied climates based on locations.

Compensation
Hourly rate: $25.00–$40.00 (DOE) plus per diem. Base pay range: $25 USD – $40 USD. In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, or other compensation.
