About the Role
The Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division invites a

Technical Product Marketing Specialist

in Houston, Texas. As a member of the Global Marketing Communications team, you will support the introduction and maintenance of product‑focused marketing materials by collaborating with product managers, engineers, and commercial and sales teams to clearly communicate our products’ features and benefits to target audiences. You’ll serve as the key liaison between product development and marketing, developing sales support and marketing materials for new and existing products and services, and delivering product content across a range of marketing channels to meet go‑to‑market goals.

Key Responsibilities

Create educational and product marketing content across platforms, ensuring clear, consistent communication of product value and features to internal, external, and dealer audiences.

Collaborate with engineers, key stakeholders, and agencies to plan and execute the development and maintenance of materials such as spec sheets, brochures, dealer selling guides, webpages, and related product‑focused content.

Perform market and competitive research to inform strategy.

Lead marketing content efforts across channels.

Manage photography and video production, and handle these assets through marketing distribution systems.

Oversee marketing budgets to achieve product marketing strategies.

Required Skills

Promotion and Marketing Communications:

Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to employ multiple channels and tools to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

Effective Communications:

Understanding of communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and interpret information and needs.

Creativity:

Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative and original thinking, and ability to apply them to a variety of business situations.

Customer Focus:

Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction with business decisions, and ability to create customized solutions.

Collaboration:

Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups.

Vendor/Supplier Management:

Ability to manage the business relationship with external providers (vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, a related field, or equivalent experience.

3‑5 years of marketing, communications, or related experience, ideally in a technical product marketing role.

Ability to simplify information for communication with varied audiences across multiple channels.

Highly detail‑oriented with strong multitasking skills.

Strong project and prioritization management, collaboration, and creative skills.

Experience communicating with all levels of an organization.

Background in the oil, gas, and/or marine industries is desirable and will enhance success.

Summary Pay Range
$89,210.00 – $133,810.00. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple factors such as location, role, and individual performance. Salary is one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
