The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing in Athletics. This position reports to the Assistant AD/Marketing and Promotions as well as the Associate AD for External Operations. The incumbent will assist in developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing all marketing and promotional efforts for the Department of Athletics and will help grow the Department of Athletics community relations.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in the development, planning, coordination, and implementation of all marketing and promotional efforts for the Department of Athletics.

Grow the Department of Athletics community relations.

Plan, coordinate and implement marketing, promotional and social media efforts primarily for Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

Drive ticket sales and attendance for all ticketed sports.

Engage the community through meaningful community relations, utilizing market research, analytics, and consumer and social trends.

Coordinate in-game promotions for football (on field director), basketball (game day director) and assist with baseball promotions as needed.

Write and execute game scripts for Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling.

Assist with Football and Baseball. In-game promotions include pre-game, timeouts, halftimes, etc.

Collaborate with Corporate Sales & Sponsorships to execute promotions reflecting marketing/sales commitments.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Willingness to work nights and weekends, including all home Football, Basketball, Baseball, and other athletic events and contests as assigned.

Ability to use MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana or similar project management software.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Sport Marketing, Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design.

Experience managing community engagement/relations, prior experience working in athletics, experience with market research and analytics, and knowledge of consumer and social trends.
