Be part of the connection. In your role as a Noticias Multimedia Journalist (MMJ), you will get to the heart of every story by talking to members of your community. MMJs are enterprising storytellers who uncover perspectives that might otherwise go unreported. From pitching to writing, shooting, interviewing, and editing, you will take ownership of each step of the storytelling process and work with a collaborative team to create compelling, timely, and accurate coverage across traditional and digital platforms.

What you’ll bring to Spectrum Noticias

Required Qualifications

Experience: Television news reporting – 3+ years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field; or comparable television work experience
Language: Write and speak Spanish and English fluently
Technical Skills: Ability to shoot video, understanding of video editing software, and use of social media effectively
Skills: Ability to communicate effectively on camera and through writing and verbal expression
Abilities: An innate curiosity and a sense of urgency in creating compelling stories; ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
Travel: Must be open to travel to discover important stories in the neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
Schedule: Ability to work under time pressure, willing and able to work different or longer shifts due to breaking news or severe weather emergencies, and able to work weekends and holidays
License: Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the state of residence
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a 24-hour news channel
Working Conditions

Work inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year; may be subjected to various weather conditions including extreme heat or cold
The base pay for this position generally is between

$70,000.00 and $130,000.00 . The actual compensation offered will consider a range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and certain positions may be eligible for additional incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
