Job Description
NSC Staffing is hiring Lighting Technicians / Apprentice Electricians for a long-term lighting retrofit project in Fruita, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a year-long commercial project upgrading lighting systems in public schools.
- Hours: 40 hours/week M-TH
- Shift: 3:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Pay: $27.65/hr (Base $15.15/hr + Fringe $12.50/hr)
- Per Diem: $150/days worked (for qualified travelers)
JOB DETAILS:
- Remove existing light fixtures, lamps, ballasts, and related components.
- Install LED fixtures, retrofit kits, drivers, occupancy sensors, and lighting controls.
- Complete wiring, terminations, and minor circuit modifications.
- Troubleshoot lighting circuits and resolve installation issues.
- Test completed fixtures and lighting controls for proper operation.
- Read electrical drawings, fixture schedules, and project specifications.
- Operate ladders, scissor lifts, and other required equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area within an active school environment.
- Follow NEC requirements, site safety procedures, and local electrical codes.
- Coordinate with the project supervisor to meet production schedules.
- Previous commercial electrical experience required.
- Lighting retrofit or LED installation experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot 120V and 277V lighting systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and identify circuits.
- Must provide standard electrical hand tools and required PPE.
- Ability to work independently while meeting production expectations.
- Professional appearance and conduct suitable for a public school environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders or scissor lifts for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass required background screening and drug testing.
Required:
- OSHA 10 (issued within the last 5 years)
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
