is looking for a talented Latinx playwright to join us as a co-collaborating

BOOKWRITER

on a heartfelt chamber musical about a Latino teen’s journey to find themselves. We’ve had some great progress so far — a successful fringe festival run, finalist in a play/musical contest, and two NYC table reads — and now we’re ready for the next step. If you’re passionate about storytelling, musical theater, and sharing Latinx stories, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Project
We’re working on a five-character chamber musical—a dramedy about identity, family, and self-discovery. The story follows a Latino teenager trying to find their way, and it’s already caught people’s attention through past readings and productions. It has also been a finalist for several writing competitions. The creator just finished an NYC MA program dedicated to writing musicals and completed the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop as a composer and lyricist. We also have an industry pro on board as a consultant to help guide things.

What We’re Looking For In A Collaborator

A Latinx playwright who loves inventive storytelling, who has a strong POV to deep dive into Latinx heritage, and who wants to co-write the book

Experience developing new musical or plays (preferred, but not a dealbreaker)

Someone who can bring fresh perspectives and insights - and an "out of the box" thinker

A good communicator—in conversation, in the art of listening, and in writing

The Collaboration
We’re hoping to find someone committed to real, authentic stories to join us as a co-writer on the book. Experience in developing new works is a plus, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can bring new ideas, collaborate well, and genuinely care about this story.

About Compensation
Just a heads-up:

this is currently a non-paid gig . But we’re totally committed to making this a high-quality production and getting it in front of audiences in NYC and beyond. We believe in investing in this project and are excited to work with passionate artists who want to tell meaningful stories.
