What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Participant Experience Consultant to join our Participant Experience Consulting team. In this role, you will develop and deliver data‑driven communication and education strategies that help participants make informed retirement decisions and improve retirement outcomes. As a trusted consultant and subject‑matter expert, you will partner with plan sponsors, advisors/consultants, client service teams, and internal partners to implement participant engagement solutions, guide best‑practice adoption, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Responsibilities
Lead Participant Experience Strategy and Consultation: Serve as the subject‑matter expert on the Principal Participant Experience, using behavioral finance, communication best practices, and participant research to guide plan sponsors, advisors, and internal partners.
Provide strategic consultation to drive adoption of enterprise best practices and influence stakeholders toward solutions that improve participant outcomes and plan health.
Assess client needs and develop education and communication strategies aligned with plan objectives, participant demographics, and organizational goals.
Deliver presentations as part of sales and retention efforts to elevate understanding of the offering and differentiate our approach.
Collaborate with business partners to design, refine, and evolve participant communication and education strategies.
Interpret participant data, segmentation insights, and engagement analytics to build evidence‑based recommendations and scalable education frameworks.
Perform other strategic or project‑based duties aligned with business priorities.
Who You Are
4+ years of related work experience in retirement education, financial services, participant communications, client consulting, or a combination of equivalent experience, training, military, or education.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Effective presentation, influence, and negotiation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organization, time‑management, and attention to detail.
Travel required (approximately 10‑20%).

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives and may receive a bonus plan, where total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
Annual Salary:
Wichita, KS – Participant Experience Consultant: $69,300 – $94,500 / year; Senior – $84,600 – $114,300 / year
Des Moines, IA – Participant Experience Consultant: $73,150 – $99,750 / year; Senior – $89,300 – $120,650 / year
Charlotte, NC – Participant Experience Consultant: $77,000 – $105,000 / year; Senior – $94,000 – $127,000 / year
Chicago/Minneapolis – Participant Experience Consultant: $84,700 – $115,500 / year; Senior – $103,400 – $139,700 / year
Los Angeles/New York City – Participant Experience Consultant: $92,400 – $126,000 / year; Senior – $112,800 – $152,400 / year
Benefits
Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees, with the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. Employees do not accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments/Locations
This role offers in‑office, hybrid (at least three office days per week), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC). The working model will be determined with your leader based on several factors.
