Assignment Editor - Spectrum News 1

Responsibilities Ensure major stories are covered during the assigned shift by coordinating news teams, resources, and logistics.
Establish priorities and assign news units to cover events.
Organize the news gathering team's duties and collaborate on article ideas.
Create compelling, timely, and accurate content across traditional and digital platforms.
Qualifications Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment‑based immigration sponsorship.
Minimum of 4years of assignment desk experience in a television newsroom.
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communication or related field preferred.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and manage sources.
Organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Open to travel to cover important stories in the community.
Schedule & Working Conditions Ability to work different shifts, including longer shifts due to breaking news and severe weather emergencies.
Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays.
Workplace: climate‑controlled, open newsroom environment with moderate noise.
Travel required to discover relevant stories within the neighborhood.
