POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, works directly and collaboratively with the community and employees to effectively engage all stakeholders in an effort to increase community engagement opportunities for the District. Displays a “Persistence-Plus” attitude and possesses the ability to consistently and continuously pursue opportunities for high levels of engagement. This position reports to the Executive Director – Engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with developing, implementing, and providing oversight of outreach and engagement strategies to solicit and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

Work closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director and Coordinating Supervisor, local elected officials, businesses and other key community leaders to identify and develop programs and services that are responsive to and reflective of the needs and interests of all stakeholders.

Work closely and collaboratively with schools and other departments to monitor program quality, and serve the needs of all stakeholders.

Identify support and resources needed to carry out events and activities for all stakeholders.

Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for Rosenwald School by answering incoming telephone calls, greeting visitors, responding to routine inquiries, and directing stakeholders, customers, and community members to the appropriate staff, programs, services, or resources.

Assist with developing and sustaining relationships with external stakeholders, including but not limited to city agencies, provider agencies, community-based organizations, advocacy networks, and the faith-based community.

Compile various reports as needed; maintain databases and monthly reports; manage work order as applicable.

Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents; draft memos/letters and email, take, type and distribute minutes of meetings.

Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in an office setting performing administrative duties.

Light independent judgment necessary; decisions made on an as‑needed basis.

Standard verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.

Apply, recommend and implement technology knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing, database management) to improve department effectiveness.

Responsible for the Welfare of Others – constant duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well‑being and best interests of the district’s stakeholders.

Normal office setting; light duty – most occasions sitting at a desk; occasional standing, stirring or stooping; lift up to 20 lb.

NOTE:

This is a Grade 21, 225‑day position with a salary range of $39,702–$61,023. Final salary placement is determined by credentials, experience, and the guidelines outlined in the CCPS Compensation Handbook.
