Role Description

The Volunteer YouTube Channel & Nonprofit Video Strategy Assistant will support The Animal Cause, Inc. in growing and managing its YouTube presence and video content strategy. This volunteer, remote role involves assisting with planning video topics, helping organize filming schedules, and coordinating content that highlights animal welfare issues, rescue stories, and advocacy campaigns. Day-to-day tasks may include collaborating on video concepts, preparing simple scripts or talking points, reviewing raw footage, and suggesting edits to ensure clear messaging and alignment with the organization’s mission. The assistant will also help optimize video titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails for audience engagement and discoverability, and may support cross-promotion of videos on social media and the organization’s website. This role offers the opportunity to contribute creative ideas, strengthen nonprofit communication efforts, and make a direct impact on animal welfare awareness.
Qualifications
Ability to contribute to video production planning and coordination, including basic familiarity with Video Production workflows and YouTube content formats.
Skills in Video Editing and YouTube channel management, with an understanding of how to optimize videos, playlists, descriptions, and thumbnails for engagement.
Strong Communication and Marketing abilities to support clear storytelling, audience outreach, and promotion of video content aligned with the organization’s mission.
Interest in animal welfare and nonprofit advocacy, with a commitment to compassionate, inclusive, and respectful messaging.
Comfort working independently in a remote, volunteer environment, with reliable internet access and basic computer skills.
Prior experience with social media, digital content creation, or nonprofit volunteering is beneficial but not required.

organize the YouTube channel;
create playlists;
write channel/about copy;
develop video titles/descriptions/tags;
build upload checklists;
help structure Shorts vs. longer videos;
create a repeatable video publishing workflow.
