Job Summary / Basic Function
Develop and distribute engaging marketing and communications content—including written copy, video, and photography—to promote Weber State University. Responsibilities include creating and scheduling posts across social media channels, managing the posting calendar, collaborating with student groups and campus clients on content creation, training and advising Student Access & Success (SAS) departments on social media best practices, and working with the marketing team to boost and advertise posts.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum one year of professional experience managing social media.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience with strong social media administration and strategy skills.

Strong writing and journalism skills within communication-related fields.

Information gathering and research abilities.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Team‑collaboration experience.

Editing skills including knowledge of AP style guide and grammatical rules.

Ability to adapt writing for different audiences.

Photography and video production skills.

Knowledge of social media/digital marketing campaigns and advertising.

Experience writing digital content such as website or blog posts.

Physical Requirements
Light work; may involve lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and/or 10 lbs frequently. Requires use of arm and/or leg controls for tasks requiring force greater than sedentary work. No adverse environmental conditions are expected.
