Electrical Technical Writer

The Electrical Technical Writer will create, maintain, and improve technical documentation supporting large-scale data center deployment, readiness, commissioning support, site turnover, and operational handoff. This role focuses on electrical infrastructure documentation, including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, work instructions, readiness guides, commissioning materials, turnover packages, knowledge articles, escalation guides, and field procedures. Qualified candidates must be comfortable working within one of the following locations: Abilene, TX, Shackelford, TX, Saline, MI, Port Washington, WI, or Las Cruces, NM. Relocation assistance will be provided for selected out-of-market individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain documentation supporting electrical site deployment activities for large-scale data center builds, expansions, retrofits, and operational readiness milestones.
Create documentation for electrical infrastructure deployment, including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, work instructions, readiness guides, commissioning support materials, punch-list support content, turnover packages, knowledge articles, and operational playbooks.
Partner with electrical SMEs across deployment, engineering, construction, commissioning, facilities operations, reliability, safety, compliance, and vendors to convert complex electrical requirements into executable documentation.
Document electrical deployment processes related to power distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, RPPs, busway, EPMS, grounding, labeling, energization readiness, load bank support, commissioning turnover, and operational handoff.
Maintain documentation quality through structured reviews, SME validation, version control, approval workflows, field feedback loops, audit trails, and periodic refresh cycles.
