Internship Opportunity With Lehigh Valley Phantoms And Masl Lehigh Valley
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Masl Lehigh Valley are seeking two creative, energetic, and social media-savvy interns to support the organization's digital content and marketing efforts throughout the 2026-27 season. This role will primarily focus on gameday social media coverage, content creation, and assisting with the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives for both professional sports franchises, as well as concerts, events, and entertainment experiences at Ppl Center. The ideal candidate is passionate about sports, digital storytelling, fan engagement, and live events. This position requires a positive, team-oriented personality that embraces the vision of the Phantoms, Masl Lehigh Valley, and Ppl Center as the epicenter of sports and entertainment in the Lehigh Valley.
Reports To: Director of Integrated Marketing & Community
Duration: Full Season (October
April)
Key Responsibilities:
Must be available to work nights and weekends, including all home games and additional events as assigned
Assist with live social media coverage for Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey and Masl Lehigh Valley soccer games, including select away game coverage as needed
Support content creation across social media, email marketing, website, mobile app, and other digital platforms
Monitor social media trends, fan engagement opportunities, and best practices across professional sports and entertainment
Collaborate with marketing, communications, game presentation, ticket sales, and community departments to enhance fan engagement and support organizational revenue goals
Assist with building and growing the "FANDOM" surrounding the Phantoms, Masl Lehigh Valley, and Ppl Center events
Create weekly analytics and performance reports for social media platforms and digital campaigns
Serve as a brand ambassador within the community and support organizational outreach initiatives
Thrive in a fast-paced, live-event sports and entertainment environment
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the internship
Availability to work nights, weekends, home games, and special events
Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and content creation
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging marketing and social content
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly in a live-event environment
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and senior leadership
Energetic, positive, and team-oriented personality
Passion for sports, entertainment, fan engagement, and storytelling
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Previous sports and entertainment experience preferred
Photography and/or videography experience is a plus
Knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or HTML is preferred
Familiarity with professional hockey, indoor soccer, and live entertainment environments
Strong interest in sports marketing, social media, and digital content strategy
