We are seeking a creative and organized Marketing & Digital Communications Coordinator to expand our brand awareness, strengthen community engagement, and support organizational communications across multiple digital platforms. This position combines marketing, social media management, content creation, community engagement, event promotion, and administrative support responsibilities.
Position Summary
The Marketing & Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and executing marketing and communication strategies that enhance the visibility of the Humane Society of South Carolina. This role manages social media platforms, digital marketing campaigns, website content, email marketing initiatives, brand messaging, and community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate is a creative professional with strong communication skills, experience in digital marketing, and the ability to analyze and improve campaign performance.
Key Responsibilities – Social Media Management
Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter), and emerging platforms.
Create, schedule, and publish engaging content that promotes organizational programs, events, services, success stories, and community initiatives.
Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and industry best practices.
Respond to comments, messages, reviews, and community inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Grow audience engagement and increase brand awareness through strategic content development.
Content Creation & Brand Management
Develop written, graphic, and video content for digital and print marketing campaigns.
Maintain brand consistency across all communications and marketing materials.
Create promotional materials including flyers, brochures, graphics, presentations, and event collateral.
Capture and edit photos and videos for use on social media, websites, and marketing campaigns.
Assist with storytelling initiatives featuring animals, volunteers, donors, and community impact.
Digital Marketing
Develop and manage email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
Assist in creating and managing digital advertising campaigns.
Support website maintenance by updating content, events, program information, and news.
Implement marketing strategies to increase website traffic, engagement, and online support.
Analytics & Reporting
Track digital marketing and social media performance using analytics platforms.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), engagement rates, audience growth, website traffic, and campaign effectiveness.
Generate monthly marketing reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Conduct market and audience research to identify opportunities for increased visibility and engagement.
Event Marketing & Community Outreach
Promote fundraising events, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
Coordinate marketing efforts before, during, and after organizational events.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, vendors, media outlets, and community partners.
Represent the organization at community events as needed.
Administrative Support
Provide marketing‑related administrative support to the President and Director.
Maintain digital assets, marketing calendars, and communication schedules.
Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Assist in clinic operations and clinic initiatives as directed.
Required Qualifications – Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required) in one of the following fields:
Marketing
Communications
Public Relations
Journalism
Digital Media
Business Administration
Graphic Design
Related field
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, social media management, or a related field.
Nonprofit experience preferred but not required.
