Job Summary The producer delivers and contributes accurate, visual, news content across all media platforms.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for evaluating, writing, illustrating (through video, sound, graphics etc.), and organizing stories into broadcast and digital platforms.
Oversees writing, production, and timing of broadcast, online or streaming publication.
Manage broadcast and digital shows, contribute to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking news situations.
Monitor and contribute to post‑production and edit processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
Write, produce and edit material that appeals to target audiences.
Edit video for multiple platforms.
Research production topics using the internet, video archives, and other information sources.
Specialized Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities Must be able to interact well with all broadcast and digital journalists in the newsroom, including anchors, multi‑media journalists, videographers, meteorologists, sports personnel, news managers, production and engineering staff.
Detail oriented.
Excellent verbal, written, grammar, and analytical skills.
Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Strong news judgment and journalistic integrity.
Proficiency with newsroom, digital and streaming computer systems, editing, camera equipment, computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
Willingness to learn new systems or our specific media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
On‑camera appearances possible.
Education / Experience Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/Film; may substitute equivalent experience in television or radio broadcast/production for those without a degree.
Training / Equipment Utilize state‑of‑the‑art television and digital technology; MS Outlook, e‑mail.
