About the Role
As a Video & Content Editor Intern, you'll learn how raw footage becomes engaging content that captures attention and drives results. Working across Hello San Diego , Routt Home Team , and Hello Scale , you'll learn how to edit everything from short-form social videos to long-form YouTube content while learning the creative and strategic decisions behind high-performing content.

This is a hands‑on, mentorship‑driven internship where you'll develop real‑world editing, storytelling, and content marketing skills by contributing to published projects alongside our team.

What You’ll Do

Edit short‑form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

Edit long‑form YouTube videos, including neighborhood guides, educational content, and local features.

Organize and assemble footage using B‑roll, music, graphics, transitions, and captions.

Write and test multiple hooks for short‑form videos to improve viewer retention.

Draft captions using our content framework to complement each video.

Collaborate with content producers to shape stories before editing begins.

Incorporate feedback and refine edits based on audience engagement and performance data.

Contribute content across all three brands: Hello San Diego, Routt Home Team, and Hello Scale.

What You’ll Learn
Throughout the internship, you'll build practical skills in:

Editing videos that maximize audience retention through pacing, storytelling, and strong opening hooks.

Professional workflows for both short‑form social content and long‑form YouTube production.

Writing scripts and captions that work together with the edit to increase engagement.

Using analytics to evaluate content performance and improve future edits.

AI‑powered editing and content creation tools that improve efficiency while maintaining authentic storytelling.

Content strategy from concept through publication and performance review.

We're Looking For Someone Who

Has some experience editing video using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.

Wants to improve through structured feedback and hands‑on practice.

Is curious about what makes videos perform well on social media.

Pays attention to detail, including pacing, captions, audio, and overall polish.

Is eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a creative team.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic understanding of social media platforms and video formats.

Interest in digital marketing, storytelling, content creation, or video production.

Experience creating personal, freelance, school, or client video projects is a plus but not required.
