In an environment where attention is scarce, AI intermediates information, executives consume ideas in multiple formats, the Director of Narrative and Content orchestrates how the Institute's research and insights are framed, connected and communicated so they become influential ideas rather than standalone publications.
This role translates complex, cross-divisional insight and research into compelling, trusted narratives for the world's most influential decision-makers. It enables high-impact enterprise thought leadership by shaping the Institute's editorial voice and leveraging the latest distribution channels and AI-enabled tools.
The successful candidate will bring exceptional executive-level storytelling capability, and a proven ability to translate complex research insights into decision-relevant stories. They will combine a collaborative mindset with strong influencing skills, to partner across with the Institute's research fellows, division SMEs, Editorial, Design & Publishing (EDP), Chief Marketing Office (CMO), Chief client Office (CCO), communications and senior leadership.

Collaborative influence across matrixed organizations: Builds trust and alignment with the Institute research fellows, who drive the research agenda, and the divisional SMEs, to amplify the Institute's voice; develops tight partnership with the editorial, marketing and communications teams through well‑developed stakeholder management capabilities.
Strategic and creative problem‑solving: Brings an innovative mindset and data‑driven assessment of opportunity to enhance the voice of the Institute in line with its overall strategy and business goals.
Emerging channels and AI fluency: Keeps pace with agentic distribution models, generative engine optimization (GEO), and AI-enabled tools; identifies, tests, and scales formats that extend the reach of Institute insights.
Responsibilities

Institute Narrative & Editorial Leadership: Define the narrative "throughlines" that connect research, leadership perspective, and market reality into an influential S&P Global point of view, based on the research agenda defined by the Head of the Institute and Research Fellows. Translate complex research into accessible storytelling and manage the institute's editorial voice. Work in partnership with divisions to elevate their research into enterprise‑relevant narratives, while preserving divisional ownership of underlying analysis, data and authorship.
Flagship Content and Enablement: Amplify the impact of the Institute's research with the market's key decision-makers by leveraging a range of tools including flagship reports, digital formats, video, podcasts, executive briefings, AI/GEO discoverability, media content, in partnership with content marketing and communication teams. Align the Institute's key publications with enterprise flagship events and programming.
Emerging Channels, AI-Enabled Tools, and Agentic Distribution: Identify, test, and leverage emerging channels, formats, and distribution models that increase the visibility and engagement of the Institute's insights. Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate content adaptation, increase discoverability, and support scaling, by leveraging the latest developments on agentic distribution models and GEO/AI-era visibility standards, in partnership with the demand generation and technology teams.
