Job Summary
The Department of Literature, Journalism, Writing, and Languages is seeking an adjunct teaching position in modern languages. The position requires fluency in French, German, or Chinese, and is an in-person teaching role starting in August 2026.
Responsibilities
Provide instruction in French, German, and/or Chinese including some general education and service courses.
Work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Job offer is contingent on successful completion of a background check.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in a specified discipline; Doctorate preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year of teaching experience and evidence of effective teaching with students from diverse backgrounds.
Philosophical: Commitment to Christian liberal arts education and desire to work in a Christian university; supportive of the university’s religious and educational goals.
Personal: Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement; agreement to live in accordance with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.
Salary and Employment
Adjunct pay is based on a 3‑unit full semester appointment, ranging from $5,013 to $6,684. Unit count determines the actual salary.
Job Status: Part time.
