Overview
CBS News & Stations at Paramount is hiring an AR/VR Development Designer to shape how stories are experienced across broadcast news. AR/VR is no longer experimental here — it is operational, scalable, and central to daily newscasts and major national moments. You will design and build immersive AR/VR environments in Unreal Engine and Cinema 4D, working directly with producers and creative leads to translate editorial ideas into intentional, high-performance visual space. The role spans CBS News, 28 owned TV stations, and the CBS News Streaming Network.
Responsibilities
Design and build immersive AR/VR environments for broadcast and digital storytelling using Unreal Engine and Cinema 4D.
Collaborate with producers and creative leads to translate editorial ideas into conceptual and production-ready visual spaces.
Translate concepts into real-time, high-performance visuals suitable for daily newscasts and major national moments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AR/VR content into broadcast and streaming workflows.
Qualifications
Strong design background in motion, 3D, broadcast, or experiential design.
Solid Unreal Engine experience in real-time scene building.
Proficiency in Cinema 4D and Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Good instincts for lighting, composition, typography, and motion.
Understanding of real-time performance constraints for broadcast.
Ability to work fast across multiple projects.
Comfortable collaborating with both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
