About the Role
The Assistant Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations is a key member of a dynamic Advancement team that raised over $110M in the past year. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, this position is responsible for cultivating and soliciting The Huntington’s corporate, foundation, and government funders while communicating the organization’s vision and impact.
Responsibilities
Identify, cultivate, and solicit corporate, foundation, and government funders to achieve annual fundraising goals.
Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals, reports, and other programmatic materials.
Maintain a detailed calendar of application and reporting deadlines and ensure timely submissions of all materials.
Collaborate cross-divisionally with program staff to compile grant project information, including outcomes, deliverables, timelines, and metrics for evaluation.
Independently manage a portfolio of CFR donors and identify new prospects to grow this portfolio.
Collaborate with Finance to develop proposal budgets, monitor grant spending, and generate financial reports.
Steward members of the Corporate Partners Program and pursue opportunities with new and lapsed members.
Spearhead efforts to secure corporate sponsorships for exhibitions, events, and programs.
Assist in developing strategies for fundraising initiatives and participate in divisional prospect meetings.
Prepare exhibition and special initiative prospectuses for presentation to funders.
Initiate and sustain relationships with institutional donors through meetings, on‑site tours, and events.
Research and identify prospects with assistance from a Prospect Research Analyst.
Maintain solid knowledge of key corporate and foundation relationships.
Prepare and maintain internal records related to funded grants and monitor progress toward goals.
Assist in managing CFR events, including coordination with corporate volunteers and sponsors and performing necessary administrative duties.
Qualifications
B.A. Degree (Master’s preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), donor databases including Raiser’s Edge, and web‑based research.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Outstanding writing skills with the ability to organize and synthesize complex information succinctly.
Exceptional command of English grammar, proofreading, and editing.
Knowledge of corporate, foundation, and government fundraising strategies and methods for obtaining information about relevant giving programs.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to establish and monitor priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
Self‑motivated, capable of working independently and in collaboration with program staff.
Experience
3–5 years of fundraising experience, with a focus on grants management and proposal writing.
Experience at a cultural or academic institution preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
