Overview

The Managing Director (MD) oversees a book of defined contribution plans aligned with key Core Market advisor relationships. The books vary per advisor, typically comprising 60–90 plan sponsor relationships and 5–7 advisor relationships. Plan sizes range from $10m to $60m in assets under administration. The MD develops positive relationships with institutional clients and collaborates with Fidelity personnel to support service delivery.
Responsibilities

Build and maintain relationships with plan sponsors, advisors, and other key decision makers.
Serve as the primary client contact and act as a trusted advisor in partnership with the plan's advisor.
Participate in advisory book reviews, quarterly updates, and training activities, both electronically and in person.
Differentiating Fidelity’s benefits approach against competitive solutions and implementing appropriate offerings.
Facilitate discussions on legal, regulatory, and design issues across the plan.
Consult with clients and advisors on qualified and potentially nonqualified plan design alternatives.
Coordinate internal resources to provide analysis and recommendations on design alternatives.
Assist plan sponsors with corrections, resolving operational defects, PSW navigation, and client inquiries.
Produce satisfactory resolutions for client issues.
Develop strong internal working relationships to support service delivery.
Qualifications

3–5 years of Relationship Management or Client Service experience, preferably in the Retirement/401(k) industry.
World‑class customer service skills.
Record keeping and defined contribution administration experience.
Problem‑solving, effective communication, and presentation skills.
Consultative abilities to identify and implement plan design opportunities.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Must acquire Series7 and 63 licenses within the first 3–6 months of employment.
Travel

Approximately 25% travel is required.
On‑Site Working Model

Fidelity is transitioning to a full‑time onsite model. Current expectations may vary by region and role; some positions require 100% onsite presence.
