We’re looking for someone who understands our audience and can turn that understanding into email marketing that strengthens customer relationships and drives sales.
About the Role
Mini Katana is looking for a
Klaviyo and copywriting specialist who also happens to love anime .
You’ll take an active role in planning and producing email marketing campaigns—from developing campaign ideas and maintaining the content calendar to writing the copy, building emails in Klaviyo, and reviewing their performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong copywriting instincts with practical email marketing knowledge. You know how to turn product details, customer insights, promotional goals, and anime culture into campaigns that capture attention and encourage customers to take action.
Your anime knowledge will help you understand our customers and communicate with them naturally. However, every campaign should still be grounded in clear marketing objectives, sound judgment, and persuasive writing.
Responsibilities
Email Marketing and Copywriting
Write conversion-focused copy for email campaigns and automated flows.
Develop subject lines, preview text, headlines, body copy, product messaging, and calls to action.
Build, schedule, test, and manage campaigns and flows in Klaviyo.
Create messaging for product drops, launches, promotions, newsletters, seasonal events, restocks, and retention campaigns.
Use anime and customer insights to develop relevant campaign concepts and creative angles.
Maintain a consistent and recognizable Mini Katana brand voice.
Proofread and edit content for clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency.
Support SMS marketing and other retention channels as needed.
Marketing and Content Calendar
Help develop and maintain the email marketing and content calendar.
Plan campaigns around product launches, promotions, restocks, seasonal events, and important dates.
Turn broader marketing priorities into clear email campaign ideas and schedules.
Coordinate campaign timing, messaging, offers, and creative requirements with the marketing, design, and merchandising teams.
Prepare campaign briefs that clearly communicate the audience, objective, key message, offer, and call to action.
Track campaign deadlines and ensure emails are reviewed, approved, and scheduled on time.
Identify gaps and opportunities in the calendar, including educational, entertaining, promotional, and community-focused content.
Balance sales-focused campaigns with content that builds engagement, trust, and long-term customer interest.
Help organize recurring campaigns and automated communications across the customer journey.
Adjust the calendar when product availability, business priorities, or campaign performance changes.
Performance and Optimization
Review campaign and flow performance using key email marketing metrics.
Use results to improve subject lines, messaging, offers, timing, segmentation, and campaign strategy.
Develop and document A/B testing ideas.
Identify opportunities to improve existing Klaviyo flows and customer touchpoints.
Share observations and recommendations with the wider marketing team.
Qualifications
Excellent professional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
Experience writing conversion-focused email copy for an e-commerce or consumer brand.
Hands-on Klaviyo experience, including campaigns, automated flows, and basic reporting.
An understanding of email strategy, customer journeys, segmentation, testing, and retention marketing.
Experience contributing to a marketing or content calendar.
The ability to turn business priorities into organized, actionable campaign plans.
Genuine familiarity with anime across a meaningful range of series or genres.
An understanding of anime culture, audiences, terminology, humor, and references.
The judgment to use anime knowledge naturally without making the copy feel forced.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and deadline management.
The ability to work independently while collaborating with a creative team.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Postscript or SMS marketing.
Familiarity with personalization, A/B testing, segmentation, and email performance analysis.
Experience working with anime, gaming, apparel, collectibles, entertainment, or fandom-focused brands.
Experience supporting merchandising, product launches, promotional calendars, or product collections.
Knowledge of e-commerce retention and lifecycle marketing.
Experience writing product descriptions, landing-page copy, advertisements, or social media campaigns.
