Role Overview
The Short‑Form Video Producer creates engaging vertical video content that expands Mentor A Promise's reach across social media platforms. This role transforms documentaries, podcasts, interviews, community events, educational programming, volunteer experiences, and behind‑the‑scenes moments into compelling short‑form videos optimized for digital audiences. Working closely with PromiseVoice, PromiseBrands, PromiseRooted, and the marketing and communications teams, the Short‑Form Video Producer helps grow awareness, inspire volunteerism, strengthen community partnerships, and increase support for MAP's mission.
The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with strong editing skills, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and a passion for creating meaningful content that connects with audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Produce engaging short‑form videos for social media campaigns
Edit vertical video content optimized for multiple platforms
Develop compelling visual stories that reflect MAP's mission
Create videos that educate, inspire, and encourage community engagement
Maintain high creative and production standards
Video Editing & Content Optimization
Edit content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook Reels, and emerging platforms
Develop attention‑grabbing hooks and engaging pacing
Create captions, graphics, subtitles, and calls to action
Optimize videos for audience retention and platform performance
Repurpose long‑form content into short‑form storytelling
Storytelling & Creative Development
Identify compelling stories across MAP programs and initiatives
Collaborate on creative concepts and campaign ideas
Support visual storytelling that reflects dignity, authenticity, and hope
Ensure all content aligns with MAP's storytelling standards
Promote ethical, trauma‑informed, and privacy‑conscious storytelling
Social Media Collaboration
Partner with marketing and communications teams on campaigns
Support content calendars and publishing priorities
Contribute ideas based on platform trends and audience behavior
Assist with campaign launches and community engagement initiatives
Strengthen cross‑platform storytelling strategies
Creative Innovation
Stay current on short‑form video trends, editing techniques, and platform best practices
Explore new storytelling formats and creative approaches
Recommend improvements based on analytics and audience engagement
Support continuous innovation across MAP's digital content strategy
Cross‑Divisional Collaboration
Partner with PromiseVoice on social media storytelling
Collaborate with PromiseBrands on campaign and brand content
Support PromiseRooted in documenting community programming
Work with PromisePod to repurpose podcast content into short‑form videos
Align creative work with organizational priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating and editing short‑form vertical video
Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar editing software
Strong storytelling, editing, pacing, and visual communication skills
Understanding of current social media trends and platform best practices
Ability to manage multiple creative projects and deadlines
Passion for nonprofit storytelling and social impact
Preferred Skills
Experience creating high‑performing or viral social media content
Motion graphics and animation experience
Caption design and accessibility best practices
Photography or videography experience
Knowledge of analytics and audience engagement strategies
Experience with nonprofit or mission‑driven storytelling
