Job Title
The official duty station will be negotiated upon selection. At the full performance level GS-14 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide strategic leadership on communication priorities, including issue management, workload distribution, and direction on digital communication tools in coordination with the DOI social media and Digital team.
Oversee DOI-wide internal electronic messaging, ensuring all messages are accurate, timely, and appropriate for department-wide distribution.
Coordinate responses to oversight inquiries, including GAO and FISMA reports, particularly those involving web, digital, and social media operations.
Lead web content management for DOI and the Office of the Secretary, ensuring proper training for web managers, overseeing Drupal-based site development, and maintaining content accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
Ensure Section 508 accessibility compliance and establish agency-wide web standards, including practices for captioning, streaming, and other digital accessibility requirements.
Serve as creative and editorial lead for DOI.gov and bureau websites, overseeing design elements, creating and managing new site pages, troubleshooting layout/content issues, and coordinating content creation across bureaus and field offices.
Manage CMS (Drupal) governance and modernization, including leading a multi year transition to a cloud-hosted Drupal system, serving as COR for related contracts, training CMS users, and maintaining consistent quality across internal and external partner organizations.
