Production Operator Industrial Coatings

The Production Operator will manufacture industrial coatings by accurately measuring, mixing, and batching raw materials according to established formulas and standard operating procedures. This role operates production equipment, monitors product quality, and maintains detailed production records while working in a clean, climate-controlled chemical manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety and structured processes.
Responsibilities

Produce industrial coatings by measuring, mixing, and batching raw materials according to established formulas and detailed SOPs.
Operate production equipment including mixers, scales, and batching systems in a safe and efficient manner.
Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily output and quality targets.
Monitor product quality throughout the production process and promptly report any deviations, issues, or nonconformities.
Maintain accurate production and inventory records using basic systems such as SAP or other production tracking tools.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of production equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies, including proper use of PPE and safe chemical handling practices.
Document work performed, including batches completed, materials used, and quality checks conducted.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to support different production needs or tasks as required.
Handle paints, coatings, solvents, and other industrial materials in accordance with safety protocols.
Participate in process-driven, quality-first initiatives to maintain consistency and improve production efficiency.
Essential Skills

Experience in production or assembly environments with measuring, mixing, or batching materials such as liquids, chemicals, or coatings.
Ability to strictly follow formulas, work instructions, and standard operating procedures without deviation.
Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality, consistency, and accurate record keeping.
Comfort operating scales, mixers, and other production equipment.
Knowledge of or exposure to safety protocols in manufacturing environments, including proper use of PPE.
Ability to document work clearly and use basic systems such as SAP or other production tracking tools.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift, stand, and work on feet throughout the shift.
Ability to work safely with chemicals and industrial materials.
Strong communication skills within a team environment.
Flexibility to support different production needs, tasks, or areas as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience is preferred.
Experience with batching, mixing, and chemical handling in a production setting.
Familiarity with SOPs, quality control procedures, and safety practices in a chemical or paint production environment.
Exposure to paint production or working with paints, coatings, and related materials.
Mechanical aptitude is a plus and supports troubleshooting basic equipment issues.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled chemical manufacturing facility focused on process discipline and quality-first operations. There are three openings on first shift, typically 10:00 a.m.7:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.6:00 p.m., offering a consistent schedule with defined shift structure. Work involves hands-on production tasks with paints, coatings, solvents, and other industrial materials, and requires use of appropriate PPE such as respirators, gloves, and safety gear. The production floor is team-based with supervisor oversight, and the work combines repetitive but detail-oriented tasks with active, on-your-feet responsibilities throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $43680.00/yr.
