Social Search Strategist

SEVEN.ME · New York, NY, USA ·

Pay:
$75,000-$80,000/yr
Job type:
Full Time

Overview
At Rise at Seven, this role owns the intersection of organic social and search—turning insight into high-performing, platform-native content, and turning platform behaviour into search-informed strategy. You're not just planning content calendars; you're reading how people search, discover, and behave across TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube, and using that to shape what we make and why.

This is a client-facing role. You'll be trusted to run accounts, mentor junior team members, and represent Rise at Seven's social search point of view directly to clients and in new business.

Qualifications

3-5 years' experience in social media strategy, or management, ideally agency-side, with a track record of owning accounts end-to-end

Demonstrable social search experience—understanding how organic social platforms function as search engines (TikTok/Instagram/Pinterest SEO, keyword-led content planning, discoverability strategy)

Reddit strategy or community experience—comfortable building subreddit-native content, pitching commercial Reddit opportunities, or managing brand presence in community-first spaces

SEO fluency—not a technical SEO, but able to work credibly alongside SEO teams, understand keyword research, and translate SEO thinking into social formats

A portfolio of case studies showing measurable performance impact, not just content output

Confidence leading client relationships and difficult conversations without a Lead in the room

What you’ll own
Channel & Search Strategy

Define channel-specific strategy across organic social platforms, with a specific lens on how each platform functions as a discovery/search engine for its audience

Build keyword- and trend-informed content plans, particularly for TikTok and Reddit, that connect social visibility to search behaviour

Identify where social search opportunities intersect with traditional SEO and brief this in collaboratively with the SEO team

Content Planning & Performance

Lead content calendars, formats, and series grounded in search and platform insight

Own performance tracking and optimisation—proactive action, not just reporting

Build reporting narratives that connect content performance to search and discoverability outcomes

Client Delivery & Leadership

Own day-to-day client communication and lead check-ins, updates, and reporting conversations independently

Translate strategy and performance into confident, senior-level client narratives

Manage workflow across strategists, creator managers, and creators; maintain visibility of risk and priorities across the account

Act as an escalation point for junior team members

Budget & Resource Allocation

Manage and allocate budgets across content production, creator spend, and platform prioritisation, with commercial accountability to Leads

Platform & Cultural Intelligence

Stay ahead of platform algorithm shifts, particularly search/discovery-related updates (TikTok SEO changes, Reddit's evolving ad/organic ecosystem, Instagram search)

Translate emerging platform behaviour into scalable, brand-relevant content ideas

Why this role matters

You're the person who proves social isn't just creative output — it's a search and discovery channel with measurable commercial value. You bring structure, seniority, and a search-led point of view that clients can't get from a generalist social hire.
