S&C's lawyers are trained to be generalists with a broad perspective and a thorough understanding of law and business. The Firm believes that well-rounded practitioners must be successful in a wide range of legal areas.
The General Practice (Corporate) Group is comprised of subgroups including Capital Markets, Credit & Leveraged Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Executive Compensation, Financial Institutions, Intellectual Property, Latin America, Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Development & Finance, and Restructuring & Special Situations. During the 24-month unassigned period following your start at the Firm, you will have the opportunity to work in many different substantive areas of our practice. At the end of the unassigned period, you will be assigned to one (or more) of the subgroups.
While associates in our Litigation, Tax, and Estates & Personal Groups are not divided into subgroups, they are equally encouraged to explore a broad range of work and may also elect to focus more or less on particular areas according to their interests.
We are looking for students with exceptional academic records, common sense, excellent communications skills, superior judgement and enthusiasm for our practice and the work that we do.
If you are a current law student who is expecting to receive a Juris Doctor degree in Spring 2027, and you are interested in applying for a full-time position starting in Fall 2027, please submit your resume, transcript, and a short cover letter indicating your practice area preferences. Please also note the office that you would like to be considered for. We are only accepting applications for our four U.S. offices at this time.
