Sourcing Manager

is the product owner and internal champion for WWGS Private Brand business, focusing on our food categories. In this role you own managing, developing, and improving the structural profitability of our private brand assortment across Amazon and Whole Foods Market products and collaborate with category teams across Grocery channels. You partner with senior team members on negotiations and optimize partnerships to meet the needs of customers.

Key job responsibilities

Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for assigned categories.

Partner with senior team members to develop business cases and annual roadmaps based on market analysis.

Create and maintain product requirement documents, PRFAQs, and six‑pagers.

Drive new product creation and renovation of existing products.

Identify opportunities through customer insights, market research, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Partner with Product Commercialization, R&D, Legal, and QA to bring products to market efficiently while managing risk.

Establish and track metrics to measure product performance and customer satisfaction.

Own the P&L for your product portfolio, ensuring delivery of financial targets and growth objectives.

Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews with data‑driven insights and root‑cause analysis.

Use the principles of Product, Price, Placement, and Promotion to support categories.

Collaborate with NA Category Merchant stakeholders to achieve financial plans and category objectives.

Learn your category, develop strategic supplier partnerships, and champion sustainability and quality standards.

Partner with Global Purchasing Teams, Distribution, and Regions to align category strategy.

Drive packaging innovation, influence placement decisions, and collaborate with the Pricing team.

Balance customer value proposition with profit targets and uphold company core values.

Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) is a global retail organization dedicated to revolutionizing the grocery shopping experience through enhanced efficiency, quality, and affordability. Its Private Brands division develops, sources, and manages WFM and Amazon‑branded proprietary food products across all regions, supporting both North American and International operations.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

1+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience

Experience using Excel and other business analytic tools

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation or supply chain

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, VBA, data links, etc.

Experience in online retail
