Position Summary

Responsible for directing the activities of a specificdepartment or organization ensuring business goals and objectivesmeet the vision, mission and goals of the district.

Work Location Information

All positions are considered on-site roles.

After six months of employment, some positions may be eligible toapply for a hybrid work arrangement based on job responsibilities,operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas Collegepolicy.

Ability to use independent judgement as well as the ability towork collaboratively in a team environment.

Able to network with potential clients and/or stakeholders inorder to acquire new and innovative business tactics and ideas.

Ability to represent the organization to key stakeholders, thepublic and business partners.

Must have well developed skills in prioritizing, organization,decision-making and time management.

Must be able to use appropriate managerial skills to providestaff with the tools, resources and materials necessary to meet thegoals of the organization.

Must be results oriented in addition to having strongbusiness-development skills and the ability to interact withclients, stakeholders and constituents, both internal and externalto the district.

Must be an effective communicator with outstandinginterpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills as well asexcellent leadership and customer service skills, managementexperience and the ability to motivate employees.

Key Responsibilities

Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates workforce developmentprograms, including apprenticeships, grant funded initiatives,etc., for employers and individuals seeking employment, educationand training services through Dallas College's workforcedevelopment programs. This will include developing innovativebusiness services strategies and providing education, vocationaltraining and work readiness activities.

Keeps up to date on trends, best practices and technologicalchanges through professional development activities.

Oversees development of assessment methods, curriculum,competencies for completion, business fee for service packages andprogram evaluation methods.

Provide leadership to staff, college departments, employers,workforce development agencies, government agencies, andcommunity-based organizations in the development of programservices to better serve job seekers and employers of workforcedevelopment programs.

Ensures compliance with district policies and procedures.

Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with businessand industries, governmental agencies, community organizations andworkforce development partners within the Dallas College communitynetwork to ensure quality and relevance to programs.

Represents the district and its partner agencies to thecommunity, business and industry.

Promotes the programs by serving on task forces and committeeswithin the college and the community.

Works directly with business, faculty, staff and partners toimplement short and long-term goals.

Schedules and assigns classes to serve the needs of students,partners and the community.

Develops and manage appropriate evaluation and reportingprocesses to determine program success and effectiveness.

Develops and implements the marketing of programs and activitiesof workforce development programs.

Uses excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and writtencommunication skills when interacting with internal/externalstakeholders and constituents within the Dallas College communitynetwork.

Presents information that is clear, concise and understandableusing various media formats.

Supervise, mentor, coach and evaluate the performance ofassigned employees.

May supervisor two (2) or more full-time or full-time equivalentemployees.

Manages the program budget including developing budgetproposals, justifying expenses, and monitoring expenditures ofapproximately $1Million depending on nature of the program.

Provides exemplary customer service.

Completes required Dallas College Professional Developmenttraining hours per academic year.

Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher plus five (5) years of work relatedexperience.

Official transcripts required.

Must have valid driver’s license.

Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
