Requirements
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere: Ability to handle complex projects, including multi-layered timelines, color correction, and audio syncing.
Understanding of YouTube-style Editing: Knowledge of high-energy editing styles, quick cuts, humor, and meme integration to keep audiences engaged and focused on retention.
Experience Editing Long-Form Podcast Interviews or YouTube shows: Proven ability to edit down lengthy content into concise, engaging segments while preserving flow and structure.
Openness to Feedback: Highly adaptable and willing to accept constructive critique to meet the team's vision and improve video performance.
Portfolio of Relevant Work: Must provide a portfolio showcasing applicable editing projects that meet these requirements.
A Team Player: Willing to listen, learn, and share ideas as the team grows and develops new projects; appreciates the legacy of the show, supports the creator's vision.
Experience with Google Suite: Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive for collaborative work.
Nice to Haves
Experience with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop: Strong preference for applicants with skills in these tools, enhancing their ability to create custom graphics, animations, and thumbnails as needed.
Experience with Video Filming: Strong preference for applicants with skills in the area of overall video production beyond just editing, including mirrorless camera systems, audio recording, and on-set lighting.
Audio Mixing and Editing Skills: Experience in adjusting audio levels, enhancing quality, and mixing tracks to improve listener experience.
Interest in YouTube Analytics and Channel Growth: Understanding of YouTube analytics, retention, and growth strategies, with a proactive mindset toward improving channel metrics.
Experience with ATEM Hardware/Software for Live Editing: While not required, experience with live editing using ATEM switchers or a willingness to learn these systems is a valuable plus.
Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in video production.
Hard Skills
Deadline Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines, even under tight schedules.
Planning and Vision: Strong planning skills, with the ability to see the big picture while also focusing on the finer details of each project.
Organization: This role will often have you balancing 2 to 3 different video projects at the same time, so keeping your projects, files, and assets organized is crucial.
Project Documentation: Capability to document project details effectively across project management systems to keep track of workflows, updates, and due dates.
