We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for aTechnical Documentation & Support Specialistto join a leading Company located in theDenver, COsurrounding area.

Pay Rate: $43.26 - 62.50

US Citizenship is required.

The Technical Documentation & Support Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and delivering comprehensive documentation, training materials, and knowledge management resources for our enterprise PLM systems while supporting users within the PLM ecosystem. This role develops training programs, produces user guides and tutorials, manages the PLM knowledge base, and enables user self-sufficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong technical writing skills with the ability to understand complex systems, translate technical concepts for varied audiences, and create engaging multimedia training content. Hands-on experience with in-house tools is a must.

Responsibilities :

Documentation Development

Create and maintain comprehensive Teamcenter user guides (getting-started, quick reference, advanced topics)

Document end-to-end workflows for common user tasks (part creation, assembly management, check-in/check-out, releases)

Develop process documentation for engineering change management (ECR/ECO/ECN)

Write system administration documentation and runbooks for operational procedures

Create troubleshooting guides and FAQs based on common user issues

Produce integration documentation for external systems (NetSuite, ECAD, CAD tools)

Design quick-reference job aids and cheat sheets

Maintain documentation version control and ensure content accuracy

Knowledge Base Management

Manage and organize Confluence PLM knowledge base

Establish documentation standards, templates, and style guidelines

Curate and compile existing documentation from various sources

Create searchable, well-organized knowledge repository

Tag and categorize content for easy discoverability

Archive outdated content and maintain documentation lifecycle

Coordinate external documentation access for contractors and vendors

Training & Enablement

Serve as first line support for CAD & PLM users

Develop and deliver formal Teamcenter training programs (new user onboarding, role-specific training)

Create video tutorials and screen recordings for common workflows and issues

Produce training slide decks and presentation materials

Conduct training sessions (virtual and in-person)

Develop assessment materials to measure training effectiveness

Design role-specific training paths for different engineering functions

Support new hire onboarding with PLM-specific training content

Create and host lunch and learns as extensions continue and new hires onboard

Continuous Improvement

Gather feedback from users on documentation quality and gaps

Analyze support tickets to identify documentation needs

Collaborate with PLM engineers to document new features and configurations

Track documentation usage metrics and identify improvement opportunities

Stay current with PLM system changes and update documentation accordingly

Basic Hiring Criteria :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, OR equivalent practical experience

Minimum 3-5 years of technical writing in engineering or PLM environments, preferably within Teamcenter and NX

Excellent written communication with ability to produce clear, concise, accurate documentation

Strong understanding of technical concepts with ability to learn complex systems quickly

Proficiency with documentation tools (Microsoft Word, Confluence, SharePoint)

Experience with video creation and editing tools

Ability to create diagrams and visual aids (PowerPoint, Lucidchart, or similar)

Comfortable learning and documenting software applications

Basic understanding of engineering workflows and product development processes

Strong interviewing skills to extract information from subject matter experts

Ability to translate technical jargon for varied audiences (new users, experienced engineers, administrators)

Excellent attention to detail with commitment to accuracy

Self-motivated with ability to work independently

Collaborative approach to working with technical teams

Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

User-focused mindset with empathy for learner experience

Desired Qualifications :

Certification in technical writing, instructional design, or information architecture

Experience documenting PLM systems (Teamcenter - must have hands-on experience supporting Windchill, Enovia, Aras, Arena, 3DX, etc)

Familiarity with CAD systems (NX - must have hands-on experience supporting, SolidWorks, Creo)

Background in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries required

Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning theory

Knowledge of Markdown, HTML, or other markup languages

Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN)

Experience with Learning Management Systems and ability to build out knowledge share in Confluence

Technical certification in technical writing or instructional design preferred

Teamcenter front end/back end configuration and support skills

Active Workspace administrative ability (Organization, Access Manager, Workflow Designer, etc)

BMIDE knowledge or hands-on capabilities
